I didn’t name them after cars or racecar drivers, though. Sorry. Meet Abbi (grey tabby) and Ilana (calico). I’m very happy.
They were very glad that the drive from the shelter was short because my W123's aircon does not work at all and it was over 90 in Detroit today.
They’re both ~two years old and were brought to the shelter a month or so ago as strays. They are PERFECT, so sweet and cuddly. Ilana is more outgoing and very talkative, Abbi is inquisitive and just wants to lounge around. They’ve gotten used to my apartment pretty quickly, but they haven’t interacted with each other yet. Abbi is in my bedroom and Ilana has free roam of the rest of the apartment, tomorrow we’ll switch so they each get used to the place without stress. Introducing them will have to be a slow process unless they immediately get along (fingers crossed)

We adopted Yoda and Vader (a matched set) a bit more than 3 years ago. Photo taken the day we got them. They are the best. You have done a good thing.

Doesn’t the W123 use an AC Delco AC compressor? And both those cats look cute, you’re making me want one more.

Vader was not eating and was going to die, so the foster lady put him in with Yoda’s litter. Yoda started fucking around with him, and Vader started eating. When she said they should stay together, how could we say no?

I believe so. My Mercedes specialist shop quoted me over $2000... Needs a new compressor, new driver, some other pits + labor. I should be able to buy a new compressor of a different, more durable/better kind for ~$500 and do it myself (with help).

There has to be some upgrade, even if the compressor you have in your car was found in GM products of the same era aka easier to find, but good luck finding Dichlorodifluoromethane (R12).

This is my boy Enzo. Took him in as a foster last fall. He had an upper respiratory infection and intestinal parasites (tapeworms). After some antibiotics and dewormer, he’s all good now.
He likes taking naps (preferably on top of or near me), belly rubs, Fancy Feast and catnip-laced bubbles. He’s super cuddly and super sweet. He’s definitely my buddy.
Your new kitty cats look like sweethearts. You did good! :)

Congrats on the cats. I’m sure they’ll get along once you get them together. Get them some toys they can play with together, they’ll be BFFs in no time. And then be ready for them to start chasing each other around your bedroom at 4am every day.
